Principles applied in data processing

In the processing of your personal data, the Owner will apply the following principles that comply with the requirements of the new European data protection regulation (RGPD):

Rights

The Owner informs you that on your personal data you have the right to:

  • Request access to stored data.

  • Request a rectification or cancellation.

  • Request the limitation of your treatment.

  • Oppose the treatment.

You cannot exercise the right to data portability.

The exercise of these rights is personal and therefore must be exercised directly by the interested party, requesting it directly from the Owner, which means that any client, subscriber or collaborator who has provided their data at any time, can contact MEDICOS DEL MUNDO ESPAÑA (MDM) and request information about the data they have stored and how they have obtained them,  request the rectification of the same, oppose the treatment, limit its use or request the cancellation of those data in the files of the Owner.

To exercise your rights of access, rectification, cancellation and opposition you have to send an email to rgpd@medicosdelmundo.org along with the valid proof in law such as a photocopy of the D.N.I. or equivalent.

You have the right to effective judicial protection and to file a claim with the supervisory authority, in this case, the Spanish Agency for Data Protection, if you consider that the processing of personal data concerning you infringes the Regulation.

Purpose of the processing of personal data

When you connect to the website to send an email to the Owner, you subscribe to its newsletter you are providing personal information for which the person responsible is MEDICOS DEL MUNDO ESPAÑA (MDM). This information may include personal data such as your IP address, first and last name, physical address, email address, telephone number, and other information. By providing this information, you consent to your information being collected, used, managed and stored by Médicos del Mundo España only as described in this Privacy Policy.

The personal data and the purpose of the treatment by the Owner are the management adapted to the needs of the user and the realization of virtual courses:

  • Registration and profile: For the use of the Moodle learning platform it is necessary to register and create a profile. To do this, you must provide us with the following information: Name, surname, ID, email address and password. In addition, you can voluntarily provide optional information: City, personal image/icon, social networks (ID), age, gender, employment status, etc. Only you can modify your profile. In the courses in which you participate, both teachers and other participants can see the profile with name and surname. Your email address will always be visible to both administrators and teachers.

  • Publications and evaluations: During the realization and execution of the specific course contracted / subscribed, it is frequent that additional information related to the activity of the course is generated: publications, both in individual and group activities, evaluations proposed by teachers and, if applicable, exchange of information between the users of the course through forums,  chat or any other communication tool of the platform. In this regard, course participants can view the posts in the collaborative activities along with their assessments. This data is visible to course participants, teachers and platform administrators. Once the course is over, the registered data, as mentioned above, will no longer be visible to users (students). Only teachers can access individual activities for subsequent review and scoring.

  • Registration data: The platform records in its database the interactions of users with it, such as: the login data with the date and time, the IP address, the user's full name, the training action and the associated information.

  • Administration: As administrators of the platform, we have access to all the data derived from its use. We will only use the data for the purposes described in our privacy policy.

Security of personal data

To protect your personal data, the Owner takes all reasonable precautions and follows the best practices of the industry to prevent its loss, misuse, improper access, disclosure, alteration or destruction thereof.

We inform you that the personal data provided are subject to automated processing in MÉDICOS DEL MUNDO ESPAÑA (hereinafter, MDM) in order to manage your user profile of the training platform and to inform you of the latest developments in this matter (for example: a new training pill that is uploaded to the space)

The legal basis that legitimizes the treatment is protected by the volunteer relationship subscribed with MDM.

In compliance with the principle of data minimization of EU Regulation 2016/679 (RGPD) the data collected from users are adequate, relevant and strictly limited to those necessary for the purpose for which they are collected, being the obligation of the user himself to keep them permanently updated.

The data provided will be kept as long as your status as a volunteer is maintained, including the need to keep them during the limitation periods set by the applicable regulations and for the defense and exercise of responsibilities derived from the treatment.

Except for the necessary data transfers to the selected MDM provider, your data will not be shared with any entity. On the other hand, although they do not imply data transfers, we inform you that, in order to use the training platform, a software use license has been subscribed that implies management and maintenance of the same with an external provider that provides us with services, and that you need to access your information; However, this provider manages the data with the sole purpose of providing us with the contracted service, following our instructions and without being able to use them for any other purpose.

There will be no international transfers of your personal data.
